COVID-19 treatment - targeting RNA-dependent RNA-polymerase enzyme (how does Remdesivir work?)
This scientific animation describes one of the strategies for targeting coronaviruses (e.g. the novel coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2) by "tricking" the virus enzyme RdRP into incorporating nucleotide/nucleoside analogues into the emerging RNA-chain instead of the normal nucleotides. This group of compounds contain for instance Remdesivir and Galidesivir.
