Yes, yes, another EP-133 video. I am really sorry. But the thing completely took over me.

I'm not even sure if I really want to keep it. But more on that in a moment.

I've really been trying out a lot with the EP-133 over the last few days, jamming, changing and then experiencing total friends again. A rollercoaster ride. Of course, I would also like to share my findings with you.
The first and most important thing is: No, the EP-133 doesn't sound the same to everyone. So it's not a device for just one style of music. That's why today I sampled my Volca Bass and jammed with just these sounds. Except the drums, they are factory.
What drove me a bit crazy was the scale. I have to work my way into it again. You definitely have to be careful in which key you sample in otherwise the scale won't be right and you'll have to start all over again. And yes you can adjust the pitch, i.e. transpose, but that didn't help me here.

I also recorded other sounds this week and what I noticed is that the options for adjusting the sample later are really rudimentary. That's a real shame and my hope is that TE will make improvements here.

Overall, I can say that my musical style can of course be expressed here, but that the device's limited possibilities sometimes keep my creativity within a certain limit. I think you can hear that very well in the jam.

For these many reasons, I'm really torn right now. On the one hand, the EP-133 gives you the opportunity to easily bring external gear and samples together in a sequencer, but on the other hand, it is exactly where it needs to be strong, namely when it comes to sampling and editing the sounds built up. In some situations I naturally compared the EP-133 with its little brother the PO 33 KO and in some moments I thought to myself... hey, the PO 33 is better for me.

All Sounds sampled from Volca Bass except....
.....Long Bass Sounds is played with MIDI by EP-133

What is your opinion on the EP-133? Love or loathing?
Do you have any questions about the EP-133? Then have fun in the comments.

As always, I'm happy about your feedback and I promise that "normal" jams will come back very quickly.

Greetings Volcaniced
