The Cremation of Sam McGee by Robert Service
Published in 1907 in "Songs of a Sourdough". It is set during the Klondike Gold Rush (1896-1899) in the Yukon in the northern part of Canada.
The poem is based upon real events, although the real Sam McGee was not the one who was actually cremated.
