I CAME TO JAPAN 35 YEARS AGO on the JET Programme!
A big welcome to all the new JET participants arriving in Japan now. This is my story from 35 years ago.
Aug 1st, 1989 - I landed at Narita Airport outside of Tokyo. I was going to spend the next 2 years helping Japanese Teachers of English (JTEs) with their English classes. I was based in a local Board of Education in Kyoto Prefecture and visited 8 nearby Junior High Schools. This is the story of me leaving Toronto and arriving at my small town in Japan.
