SMuFF on DDE (3D Printing)
Here's a #short of the SMuFF printing a dual color Benchy on the Ender-3 Pro in combination with a Direct Drive Extruder (BIQU H2).
This video shows one cycle of the tool change (filament swapping).
It took me quite a while to get there, especially to get a clean hand-over from SMuFF to the BIQU H2.
One major drawback of this method is, that the DDE has to purge out quite some amount of filament in order to release the 2nd endstop sensor used for a precise and reliable tool change.
Needs more testing though.
Just in case you're wondering... Multi material models take a lot longer to print than a single material model because of the time needed to swap tools. Hence, I decided to speed up the print a bit by setting the base speed to 100 mm/s in the Prusa Slicer (V2.3).
