Robotic FP™ is Ingersoll Machine Tools’ robotic solution for mid-size, complex geometry, composite layup.


Robotic FP™ is aimed at the manufacturing needs of the aerospace and naval sectors, but can also serve a wider market, when manufacturing cost-effectively, quickly, reliable complex composites is a requirement.


With its unique bundle of large working volume and extremely compact deposition heads, Robotic FP™ is the equipment of choice to lay up tight female parts and complex geometry male tools.


Robotic FP™ is available both in direct and reverse kinematic configurations, from 6 to 8 axes, in 4 to 32 tow varieties (1/8”, 1/4”, or 1/2” wide) and in a Hybrid version that adds to fiber placement also tape laying, trimming and automated inspection.


Robotic FP™ can place a wide variety of fiber reinforced materials, from the most common to the most challenging including epoxies, BMI, thermoplastics, carbon fiber, glass fiber, and more.


Robotic FP™ comes with the well-known Siemens 840D SL CNC – an industry standard that is both easy to operate and easy to maintain.



Programming, simulation, optimization, and diagnostics are performed through Ingersoll proprietary software.


Robotic FP™ ‘s size and configuration can be easily tailored and optimized to fit your process and meet your end-user needs.
