Turing’s Try Coding Workshop is a beginner friendly introduction to coding event where you and a friend get to experience working virtually with a live instructor! No coding experience is required, but you will leave with a basic lesson introduction to the life of a software developer. 1. This is NOT a webinar! Be prepared to actively engage and have fun! We run our workshops like real classes at Turing! You will be led by a real instructor and will be participating in writing code, asking questions, coming up with ideas, and sharing your thoughts with the rest of the class. Don't worry, we don't expect you to have ANY prior coding experience and we ensure that we have a safe, welcoming learning environment. Get ready to have some fun! 2. Find a suitable workspace to engage in the workshop! While not required, we strongly encourage our participants to have their Cameras enabled for the Zoom workshop as it helps to create a more fun and engaging atmosphere! We will also be asking participants to ask questions, share their ideas, etc. so it is a good idea to find a workspace without too much background noise. Also, given the active nature of the workshop (writing code, viewing the instructor's screen, etc.) we DO NOT RECOMMEND joining via smartphone. You'll have a better experience if you use your laptop, PC or desktop to join! 3. Take care of the logistics before the workshop begins!
● Download Zoom, a free platform we will access to connect and conduct class virtually.
● Sign up for a free replit.com account. This is the tool we will use to write our code throughout our workshop.
