One of the most curious features of the Parable of Lazarus is that we never hear his voice. This silence stands in stark contrast to the Rich Man's dialogue with Abraham. In both suffering and triumph, Lazarus is silent but it would seem that this silences allows him to do what the Rich Man was mot able to do, listen to Moses and the Prophets.
