Saint James the Greater, Apostle of the Eternal Word, I take refuge in your protection.
Grant that I may fulfill my state in life and, adoring my God, venerate the Blessed Virgin Mary; so that at the hour of my death I may sit beside you, to praise you forever.
May your valiant arm and mighty shield protect me from all attacks, from those who wish me harm and from any enemies who treacherously attack me.
