Extract java tar
#tar -xvzf jdk-8u131-linux-x64.tar.gz
don’t need to download do one thing
open terminal type
#java -version
if its installed so it will give you version
if its java not installed on you computer so it will give you all
command to install java latest version
like
apt install default-jre gcj-5-jre-headless openjdk-8-jre-headless gcj-4.8-jre-headless
its for java 1.8
it will give you for java 9 so you need to install only java 8 if you need 9 you can install
how to set java home path
copy java path where its installed its by default installed in /usr/lib/java/bin copy this link
and
export JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.8.0-openjdk-amd64/bin
now check path of java
#echo $JAVA_HOME
