Haha we have so many stories to share from traveling to over 50 countries, but here are a few 🙃
• Taxi scams •
🚕 Oh boy, there were so many, and probably at least one in every country! 😭 Recently we were in Malaysia, a driver told us it would take 2-3 hours to reach our hotel due to construction work on the road, so we paid (after a lot of haggling!) around 25$. Of course, we arrived after 30 minutes and took another taxi back the next day for a fraction of that price 🤑
• Cockroaches in our camper van •
🚐 Let me tell you, IF you consider buying a van, make sure you check it VERY WELL! We were so worried about buying a car that has mechanical issues that we did not check every nook and cranny of the interior - it is NOT EASY to get rid of roaches 🪳😱
• Declined boarding at the Airport •
🛫 This one was WILD! We arrived to the airport, tickets in hand, only to be told that we had cancelled our tickets and received a refund - which we never had 😭 They made us buy new tickets (for 700$ 😨). It took us many months and an attorney in Colombia to get that money back (thanks @avianca? for that hassel) ✈️
