The company has now released a gameplay video of the character in action and it looks like the overall reception to Linkle has been fairly positive.
What appears to be her super move comes very quickly in the trailer, but you can see Linkle to a front flip with a bomb and then landing in the middle of the enemies with the explosion sending them flying. Is it Link’s sister Aryll with a new name or a brand new character not related at all? Even though she ended up not making it into that version, she did feature in a book of artwork that was released alongside the Japanese limited editions, appearing in the section for rejected characters.
Nintendo made waves when they revealed the latest character to join the roster of Hyrule Warriors Legends for Nintendo 3DS: Linkle, a female version of Link wielding two hand crossbows. In addition to Linkle, characters like Tetra and the King of Hyrule will also be joining the game’s roster once the 3DS version arrives. Oddly enough, Toon Link will not be playable in the game’s main campaign, though the character will have his own “Wind Waker” mode to make up for that.
Hyrule Warriors Legends will launch for 3DS in Japan on January 21, and in North America and Europe on March 25. The 3DS title will introduce some key new characters to the “Legend of Zelda” franchise.
