Neighborhood Leadership Academy 2022
Mini Grant Selection Criteria
Scholarships will be awarded based upon the following criteria:
NLA’s investment will catalyze community improvement through projects that center the community building principles
Leader will have capacity to successfully plan and execute community project
The scope of the grant is reasonable for this small dollar grant
NLA mini-grants will increase opportunity for neighborhood leaders and communities (not meant to support large, well resourced organizations )
Selection criteria
Project will have a positive impact in the NLA leader’s community
Participant has the capacity to successfully complete their community project within 1 year (By December 31, 2023)
Budget is reasonable (there will be opportunity to suggest a different dollar amount)
Project would otherwise not be possible without this grant (focus on smaller organizations and communities without large revenue streams)
Please keep in mind:
You do not have to fill out a rubric for each participant, though you may find that helpful for your assessment process. You will simply need to enter a number between 0 and 5 on the provided grading spreadsheet.
When deliberating, we do want to be mindful of diversity of awardees on all levels—geographic, project type, etc.
There are 20 grants available to award. The maximum award is $2500.
