How to use the iPhone Hearing Aid Update with Airpods Pro 2
To install and use the hearing aid feature /test:
1 - Update your iPhone or iPad to iOS 18.1 or newer
2 - Make sure AirPods Pro 2 (or airPods Max) are on version: 7B19 - your earbuds should auto update when connected to your iPhone or iDevice (macbook, iPad, ect..)
3 - go into your phone settings, then Airpods Pro settings which show when near your airpods and the case is open.
4 - Then click Hearing Test!

"The Hearing Aid feature has received FDA authorization. The Hearing Test and Hearing Aid features are supported on AirPods Pro 2 with the latest firmware paired with a compatible iPhone or iPad with iOS 18 or iPadOS 18 and later and are intended for people 18 years old or older. The Hearing Aid feature is also supported on a compatible Mac with macOS Sequoia and later. It is intended for people with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss.
The Hearing Protection feature works with AirPods Pro 2 with the latest firmware when paired with a compatible iPhone, iPad, or Mac with iOS 18, iPadOS 18, or macOS Sequoia and later. Feature is only available in the U.S. and Canada.
The Hearing Protection feature is not suitable for protection against extremely loud impulse sounds, such as gunfire, fireworks, or jackhammers, or against sustained sounds louder than 110 dBA.
In a 105 dBA environment, when used as directed, the Hearing Protection feature in Transparency mode provides an exposure limit of 2.5 to 6 hours / 7 days for most users. Exposure limit is derived from World Health Organization recommendations, and varies with listening mode, fit, and environmental sound level.
