How to Clean the Dell MO56UC
This guide will assist in taking apart and cleaning specific areas of the Dell MO56UC mouse.
Over time, dust can build up inside of the device which could block the sensors and prevent the mouse from working properly. The dust can be removed by using a microfiber cloth or a damp towel.
Before disassembly, ensure power is removed from the device.
Step 1 Disassembly
Unplug the USB cord to disconnect the mouse from the power
Use a Phillips 00 Screwdriver to unscrew one screw.
Step 2 Complete mouse disassembly
Take off the top of the mouse.

Step 3 Sensors
Twist the ball counter-clockwise to remove it.
Clean the ball with a microfiber cloth.

Step 6 Sensor Error

Remove the wheel to expose the sensor.
Remove any debris and wipe down the sensor with a microfiber cloth.
Step 8 Plug it back in
Insert the USB Cable back into your computer to supply with power.
Test functions of the mouse to insure proper cleaning and reassembly.
Step 9 If there are still issues, Examine the cord and the USB leads in the male port
Examine the cord for frays or any exposed wire that may cause a bad connection.
