Bruges Christmas Vacation (Brugge)
A short break with friends to enjoy the Christmas Markets and the odd Gluhwein or 2 between the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
A thoroughly fun time was had, cramming lots of sightseeing and relaxing into just 3 days.
Ice skating was as fruitless as ever, but still a great atmosphere, the long climb up to the Belfry was perfectly timed as we heard the bell chime as soon as we got to the top of the stairs to accompany our view of the low winter sun setting over the main square.
Horse and carriage ride was well worth the wait for a different perspective of the streets, with an unforgettable soundtrack of the hooves on cobbled streets.
Food and drinks were great, but watch out you don't get stung for the comedy oversized jumbo tankards of beer like we did.
Bruges is a lovely place - go there! :)
