This medication is used to prevent and treat goiter formation due to iodine deficiency. Goiter usually shrinks or disappears within 3-6 months of taking iodine supplements.
It is also indicated for the treatment of diffuse euthyroid endemic goiter in newborns, children, adolescents, and adults.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in cases where the patient has severe hypersensitivity (allergy) to the main component or any of the excipients.
It is also contraindicated in:
hyperthyroidism;
Toxic adenoma;
Toxic thyroid tumors;
Dermatitis herpetiformis Duhring;
Pulmonary tuberculosis;
Hemorrhagic diathesis.
Can be used from the first days of life.
Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding
This medication can be used in pregnant women, as prescribed by a physician.
If it is necessary to take the medication while breastfeeding, caution should be exercised to avoid exceeding the doctor's recommended dosage.
