US Cargo Control Pewag 1/2" Security Chain Grinding
Through process of time-lapse, we see it takes 10 minutes to grind through our Pewag 1/2" Security Chain. As an added theft deterrent, in order to separate the links and actually remove the chain, the chain would need to be ground though from the other side as well, which means it would take at least twice this amount of time to remove the chain!
These chains are all case-hardened to a 62 on the HRC scale (the 9/32" and 3/8" are hardened to 62 HRC 10%; the 1/2" is hardened to 62 HRC 6% deep). This is harder than most bolt cutters (they are usually rated around 59-60).
Our chain comes in three different sizes and has an electro-galvanized finish for corrosion-resistance. The square profile makes it harder for bolt cutters to get a good grip, which adds to the cut-resistance.
