Orenstein and Koppel 0-4-4-0T Mallet, hauling ore at Great Boulder Gold Mine

This is footage of the Orenstein& Koppel built 0-4-4-0T Mallet "Magnet 3", originally purchased for the Magnet Silver Mining Company tramway, located near Waratah, Tasmania. The locomotive builder number is 2609 and it was built in 1907.
After the closure of the tramway in the 1930s, the locomotive was eventually sold to the Great Boulder Gold Mine, located in Kalgoorlie - Boulder, Western Australia.
It is at the Great Boulder mine that this film was taken, probably in the 1950s.
The Bennett Brook Railway is currently in the process of preparing a grant proposal to finish the restoration of the Mallet.
