How to setup CQiNet Echolink Conference in Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit VPS
First, you need to setup your account at digital ocean.com
Then create a droplet with this configuration:
1. Enter your hostname. This can be anything you like (e.g. server, svr1, vps, etc...)
2. Select size of your droplet. I recommend $5.00 per month for beginners.
3. Select region
4. Select available setting (optional). I recommend "Enable Backups"
5. Select image. I recommend Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit server OS
6. Click create droplet. Wait 1 minute and check your email to see your IP address and your root password.
7. Using putty, login to your server. Watch this video for more info.
Installed the following programs in order:
1. Linux, Apache, MySQL, PhP (LAMP)
2. Vsftpd FTP Server
3. PhpMyAdmin
4. OpenSSL
5. Make (sudo apt-get install make)
6. CQiNet TheBridge
To install CQiNet TheBridge:
wget http://sourceforge.net/projects/cqine...
tar xzf thebridge-1.06.tgz
cd thebridge-1.06
./configure
sudo make all-recursive
cp tbd.conf.sample tbd.conf
sudo nano tbd.conf
Enter your Echolink conference details then hit Ctrl + x then hit y and press Enter to exit and save the file. Watch this video for more details.
