Gastric acid vs. stainless steel! A while ago I filmed an episode on making Gastric acid, and I had a bit left over, so I poured it into a beaker and stuck a stainless steel fork in it to see what would happen. Let's pull it out and find out! Gastric acid is made from a few different ingredients, water, HCL, salt and potassium chloride. This naturally occurring acid in your stomach is highly corrosive and will eventually dissolve metal, but what if it was left by itself until the acid neutralized? Let's find out. Also, please don't eat forks.
