Why do RAM sticks need to be separated in the DIMM slots?
A common question people ask is why RAM sticks need to be seperated when used in a 4 channel DIMM slot configuration. If you are using 2 ram sticks on a 4 slot motherboard, 2 of those slots are considered optimized for performance. This is generally stated in the instructions of your motherboard. Using these 2 slots when using 2 sticks gives you the best memory performance.
