This mix is sounding more open and punchy with my latest techniques, but I still added some light saturation to try to help it cut through on small speakers. Gentle saturation or exciters helps in combination with other plugins to give the sound a full dynamic range but I am still rolling off highs after 20Khz to try to minimize piercing sounds.
