Trimmed out my deaths for a more concise playthrough, though this causes some skips in the background music. About 5 to 10 deaths are cut, wasn't keeping count.
Here's a short and sweet game for Touhou Game Jam 14 by WOAH_MAAAN, a personal favorite of mine among digital artists I've bumped into. The core gameplay is pretty simple, but I found it still fun and engaging nonetheless. The presentation is the real highlight here, love the style as always but also all the alternate designs for Reimu and Sanae are a real treat to see. I figured it would be a reasonable enough length for a quick upload, something different on my channel for a change, etc.
A small, but recurring issue with this developer's games in my opinion is the music. It's not bad by itself but oftentimes it feels like there should be more songs provided than there are, for example it could play a new one after each cutscene and background change here. For the Game Jam projects it's certainly excusable enough, but in longer outings such as Yuuma Game ( • Yuuma Game | AspreyFM Highlights ), in which there's only one battle theme for the ~4 hour runtime (minus the final boss), it can get kind of grating. I do love Yuuma Game too, by the way. I would recommend giving both of these a look. I just figured this was worth a mention here since I don't know if I'll upload that one.
Maybe I should upload some shorter games more often, but I'm not really sure yet. For one I'm a bit reliant on savestates in most of the older games I play, which isn't always much fun to watch, and besides that all of my subs are here for Geometry Dash anyway. Think of this upload as kind of a test run, I guess. Maybe a desire to beat others to the punch in the case of this particular game, but also a test to see if something different like this is well received among friends.
