You get a private hotel room, clean and comfortable, with a TV, fridge, free WiFi internet, and an ensuite bathroom with a hot shower.
➡️ How Much Does it Cost?
- 1.6 lakh (70k baht)
➡️ Where to Do
Koh Tao is sheltered within the Gulf of Thailand and offers favourable sea conditions for diving.
➡️ Dive Sites
More than 25 fantastic dive sites are easily accessible by boat from Koh Tao, including coral reefs, submerged pinnacles, small islands, artificial reef projects, and shipwrecks. Depths range from very shallow to around 40 meters, ideal for running PADI dive courses.
➡️ Aquatic Life
Dive sites around the island are home to countless species of tropical marine life. Colourful butterfly and angelfish, wrasses, triggerfish, hawkbill turtles, moray eels, blue spotted rays, great barracuda, giant groupers, whale sharks, remoras, seahorses, pufferfish, clownfish & anemones, sea snakes, batfish, hard and soft corals & much, much more.
➡️ Cost of Living
The price of PADI dive courses on Koh Tao is exceptional value. Friendly competition between dive shops keeps costs down.
➡️ Prerequisites
To enroll in the 1-month dive internship, you must be:
- In good normal health
- Able to swim
- Minimum age of 15 years old
To join the dive internship, you need to be in good normal health, with no preexisting medical conditions that could be an issue for scuba diving.
You must be able to swim to join the dive internship. Basic swimming is fine.
Scuba diving is usually easier than swimming or snorkelling.
➡️ Is it Worth It?
Yes, definitely!
➡️ Individual Diving Course Costs
- Open Water - 11k baht
- Advanced - 10k
- EFR + Rescue - 14k
- Deep, wreck and Nitrox - 18k
- Total - 53k
Generally, the scuba diving courses individually will cost you more and can add up a bit if you do it from somewhere other than Koh Tao Island.
The Open Water + Advanced Open Water costs 50-55k INR in India. So, if you do them separately, you'll pay more. This is why I highly recommend trying the Zero to Hero Diving Course.
