Phuket Vegetarian festival
Phuket Vegetarian festival(เทศการกินเจภูเก็ต) has been finished and we captured some of the festival scenes at Sapam shrine which is 7 minutes walk from Senses.
Phuket's Vegetarian festival began in 1825 with a traveling opera company came from China to perform for the Chinese tin miners. The whole company grew sick from an unnamed malady so they kept to a vegetarian and the sickness afflicting the opera troupe then disappeared. This greatly interested the people of Kathu and became our festival after then.
