Old Gas Pipelines Are Putting Americans at Risk | THIRTEEN
The average municipal gas pipeline in the U.S. is more than 30 years old, with at least one dating as far back as the Civil War era––posing health, climate and economic hazards.
Citizen scientists, like Washington Interfaith Network volunteers Rosa Lee and Charlene Pierce, are tracking leaks in cities and homes, and clean energy advocates are pushing for a transition away from gas infrastructure altogether.
