Build and decorate your own tavern, hire staff, stock your pantry with supplies, meet the locals – and show everyone how business is done! Tavern Keeper 🍻 is a detailed business simulator, a sandbox for interior decorating enthusiasts, and a miniature interactive book all rolled into one.
This is the second game from indie studio Greenheart Games 💚 – the creators of Game Dev Tycoon – and it took nearly a decade to develop!
Your role, if you accept it
Your career begins with a rundown tavern on the outskirts of the kingdom. You'll need to build out rooms, arrange furniture, stock up on provisions, and hire staff to satisfy the eccentric locals who drop in for a drink. If things go well, you'll soon be managing a larger tavern and offering new dishes, drinks, rooms, and services to your patrons.
These are the little things that matter.
It all started out simple: your cleaner fell ill. A spark from the fireplace landed on some discarded trash, causing it to smolder. Your attentive staff would certainly have noticed, but due to the cramped living conditions, infection quickly spread, and half the team is bedridden. The cook can't keep up with the preparations, and the atmosphere in the dining room is starting to get tense. And so is the tavern itself. Because it's on fire. Oops, time to call the fire brigade...
The combination of small details and insignificant events in Tavern Keeper can lead to unpredictable consequences. Temperature parameters, personality traits, and dozens of other simulated systems will keep you entertained. But don't worry: you'll have all the tools you need to take control of any situation.
A new take on familiar characters
The single-player campaign takes place in a fairytale world full of eccentric characters. Werewolves with impostor syndrome, skeletons suffering from post-mortem crises—new surprises await you around every corner, and there's always someone in desperate need of an experienced innkeeper's help.
