Eminence in Shadow- This satirical take on the isekai genre is about a man who wants to embody side character energy but in reality, IS the overpowered main character. It’s basically a tongue in cheek superhero diary.
Yeah, this anime is absolutely hilarious, the animation is beautiful, the sound design pulls you right into the setting, there’s quite a few kick ass fight scenes, the storyline is as interesting as it is unpredictable. Oh... and the plot was nice, too.
I was totally into the powerful and unique female characters, the action shots were just perfect, and OMG the sound effects, especially when they used silence to build tension, like this: [clip plays]
It’s so ridiculous and out there but definitely keeps you intrigued. Season 1 and 2 are both available on HIDIVE, season 1 is on Hulu and Crunchyroll lacks the decency.
