Circular text demo 01
A quick demo featuring text on a circular path. Quite a complex technique - it began with a HTML/CSS/Javascript code "Drawing-on-text" by Tim Holman from Codepen. This was kindly adapted for me by my good friend Elusien from the Shotcut Forum. Then I asked on the AutoHotKey forum for a code that drew a circle on screen, and in 2 hours "boiler" replied with a fantastic AHK script. I adapted it slightly for use in Chrome.
I ran the HTML file in Chrome, then typed the AHK hot keys - and the circular text appeared on screen!! It was an exciting moment!! I screen-captured the circular text using OBS which resulted in a mp4 video with black text on a black background. I imported this Mp4 into Shotcut, applied an "invert colours" filter to make the text white and the background black, applied a "chroma-key" filter to make the background disappear, and overlayed it above an appropriate video from YouTube of a Dutch windmill, and added "Windmills of My Mind" sung by Alison Moyet to complete the short demo.
I need to now make the text bigger (easy to do) and work a bit harder with the chroma-keying to make the white text clearer. All - in- all though, a good few hour's experimenting!!
