This tutorial details Unsteady Flow Analysis and Natural Convection Modeling of a 2D Solid Cylinder. The material of choice selected for this study is a steel cylinder modeled as a rectangular chamber. The cylinder wall temperature is assumed to be 480 K, surrounding air temperature is taken as 280 K. Natural Convection Heat transfer occurs between the cylinder surface and the surrounding air due to the temperature difference. The Heat Transfer has been analyzed for a transient case for a time period of 60 seconds and the subsequent temperature variation has also been captured.
