Finally got this system (mostly) working in Warpgate Pioneers and been wanting to show it off. Here it is. Maybe I should have taken a moment to actually draw something.
By the way, the paintable canvas is pretty much all shader based, and I just found out after all these years that you can turn off the filter mode on a render texture to get actual pixel perfection. Who knew?!
