Are we sure that X-Men ‘97 is a Marvel project? X-Men ‘97 is one of the greatest Marvel creations since Avengers Endgame. We get the return of our favorite characters. Professor X is gone, and Cyclops is left to take care of the team. But, Jean Grey is about to have a kid so they have to find out if they're going to retire the X-Men. Wolverine hates this idea, and Rouge and Gambit are off to the side dealing with their tragic love story. It turns out Magneto is now the new leader of the X-Men and we are just thrown right into the story.
The X-Men take place outside of the MCU and let me tell you that's a breathe of fresh air. I'm not saying the show is perfect… One of the things that it could have benefited from was slowing down a bit by adding more time or more episodes. Some of the plot points felt rushed but overall it was still a fresh way to reintroduce the X-Men. But let me tell you… The Animation, ABSOULTY FIRE! It felt like watching Marvel vs Capcom cut scenes!
