Night Time Bug Catching! (First Full Length and Catching vVideo)
Finally I am posting my first full length video and we are doing some nighttime bug hunting. It's literally night and day when hunting for insects. many things you had never seen in the day come out, and it's a great opportunity to increase your collection in the lepidoptera order with moths, coleoptera order with many types of beetles, neroptera order with lacewing and antlions, orthoptera order with crickets, and Diptera order, with mosquitos. There's also more as well, but those are some of my favorites to find at night.
There are also many other critters that come out at night including arachnids and centipedes and millipedes. Snails and frogs come out. Be careful of snakes and venomous arachnids while hunting because they also come out to hunt and it's best to respect their space and leave them alone, unless of course you are trained and you are targeting creatures such as scorpions or other arachnids.
What I'm doing is turning on porch lights and waiting for the ideal species or order to turn up, and then catching them. You can also walk around your neighborhood with a flashlight and check along sidewalks, tree branches, bushes, walks, but make sure you have permission before checking private property.
