Tbh I've always wanted to do one of these, but I wasnt sure whether to call it a parody or not cuz I'm basically talking about the meaning behind the lyrics from my actual song, not making any jokes or satitical remarks about the Verified segment from Genius. The only thing that's a parody is the logo. The whole thing's more of a cry for help, or maybe a rebellion against my inadequacy & need to talk about what my song's about.
Well... Maybe there's a very, very slim chance that I'll get featured on Verified, or a show similar to it one day, but at this rate it's pretty highly unlikely, seeing I havent been signed to a record label yet & still hadn't released a full album after 8 years of making music, but a girl can dream, right?
Like most of my songs Grudges is a song about feeling inadequate seeing someone else do better than you & feeling unsatisfied with your own achievements & wanting to outdo these people you hold a grudge against.
(for those who are wondering, 'gebleg' is one of the various Indonesian slangs for a word that means uhhhh the opposite of 'genius'🤣)
