Sample analysis was conducted in four independent laboratories: two in Moscow and one each in Novosibirsk and Kaluga. The film presents the findings issued by the testing laboratory of the Federal Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology in the Kaluga Region.
Craters from 19th-century nuclear explosions were also filled in, but given their size, it's more accurate to say "covered." During expeditions to the Ryazan Region, to collect soil samples, we drilled to a black or gray layer and took samples from there. This black layer is nothing more than soot and is located 1.5-2 meters below the surface, with ordinary sand on top. Cesium-137 cannot possibly be the trace of a meteorite, comet, or asteroid for one simple reason: its half-life is only 30 years. Note: HALF-life, not complete decay. This means that after 30 years, the cesium will be half as much, after another 30 years, half of it will remain, and so on. Over the millions of years the meteorite would have wandered through space, no trace of cesium-137 would have remained. Therefore, after 200 years, the background radiation at the site of a nuclear explosion could well be within normal limits, if only slightly higher than the surrounding area.
The cesium-137 discovered during excavations in Tula in 2018 was found in the layer of the 1834 fire, which is located 2 meters below the surface. Moreover, there is no cesium-137 in the layers above or below.
Soil sampling was conducted in accordance with GOST R 54038. Soil samples taken from a depth of 2 meters, as well as from the surface, were analyzed at the following circular objects: 01, 02, 06, 07, 10, 12, 18 (lake) and 19 (swamp).
