Surface-Mount Technology, or SMT for short, is a production process that directly mounts electronic components on the surface of a printed circuit board (PCB). Compared to traditional Through-Hole Technology (THT), SMT has the advantages of high density, high efficiency, and better electrical performance.

Basic Concepts
Surface-Mount Device, SMD:
These are electronic components suitable for SMT processes. Instead of long pins, they have short pins or pads that can be directly soldered to the surface of the PCB.
