A variable speed drive (VFD) allows control of the speed of a three-phase motor. This is true from start-up, with acceleration control, to stopping or decelerating the electric motors. It is the variation of the frequency and the supply voltage which allows speed regulation.
How to choose a speed variator for a motor?

In practice, you must choose a frequency inverter power greater than or equal to that of the motor. For example, in the LS Electric range, for a 0.25kW motor we will choose a 0.4kw frequency inverter (the speed of the motor does not matter).
How to control a speed variator?

The wiring is relatively simple; simply connect the switch contact to a logic input of the drive. It is possible to use any input, the terminals are marked with DI (Digital Input), only the configuration will indicate whether this input will be used for multi-speed control
