Just to give you an idea, here's AC:U running on GeForce GTX560 1GB on an i5 4.2GHz 8GB system at 1280x720.

Please add something like 3 fps on average to get an idea of how the game performs when not capturing.

To be absolutely clear about this: a GTX560 is WAY BELOW the minimum requirements for this game (which, somewhat ridiculously, asks for at least GTX680, so essentially twice the power this card has). So this is in NO way representative of how the game is expected to perform and it's just meant as an experiment to see how (and if at all) it would even run on such a card.

I believe the main reason why the game is running so poorly, though, is the amount of VRAM it has available (or lack of it, in this case). That, IMO, is why there are seemingly unexplained framerate drops even on much more powerful cards (since their users also set the texture quality much higher, expecting it to work as usual, and the game runs out of VRAM). The game officially requires at least 2GB of VRAM. You can see there are texture issues and there are frequent framerate drops that often don't seem to corellate with the complexity of the scene. I believe that if Ubisoft would further optimize the texture usage, the game would perform much better on most cards, hi-end or low-end.

Also note that there is indeed FXAA, HBAO+ and Bloom enabled, so these are not the lowest settings you can go to - but disabling FXAA makes no difference in the framerate at all, disabling HBAO gives something like 2 fps on average (but the game looks really bad and flat without HBAO+) and disabling Bloom gives maybe 1 fps. On the other hand, going from Low environment detail to High also doesn't really change the framerate, as well as setting Shadows to High. Switching to 1600x900 (the resolution of the console version) makes the framerate go down about 4 fps on average (so maybe not as much as one would expect, but still significantly when we're talking framerates as low as this). Going further to 1920x1200 is not for the faint of heart, though, the framerate plummets into single digit territory.
