Today's interview is brought to you by our fabulous Henry Danielson, interviewing both Laura Chappell and Ginny Spicer! Laura helps to research and educate people on TCP and IP communications with a focus on troubleshooting, optimization, and security for Earth-based and interplanetary internetworking. On the other hand, Ginny works as a Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst in the SecAlliance Fusion Team. She leverages a combination of conventional intelligence and cyber intelligence to offer a holistic view of the modern threat landscape.
~ABOUT US~
The Space Grand Challenge (SGC) Program is a global virtual game-based cybersecurity competition for middle and high school students built by Cal Poly students. The SGC helps prepare the next generation of the cyber workforce by expanding the pipeline of talent earlier, promoting STEM, and developing cyber/IT skills. SGC accomplishes this through a unique use of gamification and esports to promote STEM, space themes, and cybersecurity skills.
This years competition, SGC LUNA 2024, allows players to work through a series of challenges around a multilayered space-themed cybercrime plot. They follow the mission brief and progress through challenges featuring complex characters, physical and digital evidence chains, and virtual-immersive environments through a real-time 3D UNITY platform.
