Severe Thunderstorm Hits Columbus, Ohio 2/11/2009
Severe Thunderstorms Hit Columbus, Ohio on 2/11/2009. This video was taken while I was stuck in rush hour traffic in downtown Columbus, Ohio right as the initial storm front hit. The lights at the beginning of the video are from the new baseball field for the Columbus Clippers. Winds of up to 70mph were reported in Columbus as well as some hail. There was a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Franklin County at the time of this storm and a Tornado Watch was also in effect. There was some lightning but very little compared to storms that hit during the spring and summer. Drivers out there that think I ran a red light, it was actually yellow when I started into the intersection, however cars turning were blocking the intersection :)
