Plugins make the Gatsby-verse go round. But, for various reasons, some Gatsby plugins end up in the open-source equivalent of “the land of Forgotten Toys”. Enter the Gatsby User Collective.

In this talk, Alex shares the Gatsby User Collective's goal of creating a sustainable community for plugin maintenance to help open-source maintainers get their lives back without their projects being forgotten.

About Alex Moon:
Alex is a full stack software developer whose career has spanned a help desk, systems administration, and software development. He's currently a Solutions Architect at WP Engine helping folks build headless WordPress solutions.

Alex's experience with Gatsby goes back several years. During his time as a contractor for Gatsby, he worked with CMS partners in the Gatsby community to help them implement better quality source plugins. He's also contributed heavily to plugins like gatsby-plugin-manifest, gatsby-plugin-sitemap, the pluginOptionsSchema Node API, and the new DSG/SSR APIs as well as many other official and community plugins.
