User research has shown that children just learning to cook often forget about their food while it’s being cooked and/or forget to turn off kitchen appliances after they are done the cooking. This is particularly a problem when children leave the stove or oven on, which could potentially start a fire. Parents wish there was a better way to remind their children to turn off appliances or make sure the appliances do so automatically.
