Cisco provides mechanism to dynamically form a trunk port. Dynamic trunk ports are established by the switch port sending Dynamic Trunking Protocol (DTP) packets to negotiate whether the other end can be a trunk port.
The physical links can be aggregated into a logical link called an EtherChannel bundle. There are two Dynamic Link Aggregation Protocols PAgP and LACP. Physical link can also be aggregated into EtherChannel statically.
