Stick on the Ice Lyrics
Written by Todd Richard, Anthony Fiddler & Doug Folkins ©️
Verse 1
Sometimes I can feel him
Though he’s just over ten years gone
But I always hear him
When a storm is coming on
Everything he said
Still running through my head
As clear as a day
I hear him say
Keep your stick on the ice boy
You gotta be ready to take your shot
Dig deep son and give it everything you got...
Keep your stick on the ice boy
Keep your head up, keep your heart in the game
You might only get one chance to get it right
So keep your stick on the ice
Verse 2
He used to drive me twenty miles through the snow
Just to get to the rink
Five AM wake up coffee
In his thermos to drink
He never missed a game
Did more than tie my skates
His words became my life
And I can hear him say...
Keep your stick on the ice boy
You gotta be ready to take your shot
Dig deep son and give it everything you got...
Keep your stick on the ice boy (Bm)
Keep your head up, keep your heart in the game
You might only get one chance to get it right
So keep your stick on the ice
Bridge
Now I’m telling my son / the very same thing
Keep your stick on the ice boy
You gotta be ready to take your shot
Dig deep son and give it everything you got...
Keep your stick on the ice boy
Keep your head up, keep your heart in the game
You might only get one chance to get it right
So keep your stick on the ice
