Check out this chilled video of surfers enjoying some easygoing waves at Bruces Beauties in St Francis Bay, South Africa. The vibe here takes me straight back to the nostalgic days of Bruce Brown’s iconic film, “Endless Summer.” It’s clear that everyone was catching plenty of waves, and the relaxed conditions gave everyone had their chance to score a fun wave.
I make it a point to capture every session at Bruces. While the waves might not always be the stuff of legends, I’m also keen to show you those days when the surf is simply enjoyable and the occasional good set rolls through.
Even though I film a lot at J-Bay, Bruces is where this channel’s heart lies, and I wouldn’t skip a session there for anything. Bruce Brown’s “Endless Summer” was the spark that ignited the surf travel film genre, weaving a worldwide bond between surfers and filmmakers. Surfing has always been about documenting the moment, whether through a friend’s lens, a partner’s, or a filmmaker’s. Nowadays, anyone with a YouTube channel can share their own wave-riding stories. Hopefully I can continue the legacy of Bruce Brown and bring that feeling of surf exploration across in this channel, that's the goal and I'm looking forward to filming
many more hours of fun, great and epic sessions. Brad
