New 14" MacBook Pro M1 Pro has issue with built-in FaceTime HD camera
I recently replaced my Mid-2012, 15" MacBook Pro (Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB, 2.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM) running McOS Catalina 10.15.7 with the new 2021 M1 Pro MacBook Pro, 1TB SSD, 16GB Ram, 16-core GPU.
I've noticed weirdness with the FaceTime HD Camera, particularly when using Effects in Photo Booth. Not only are most of the effects "jumpy" but I've also noticed crazy amounts of exposure jumpiness as if the camera is trying to adjust for changing light conditions when the light in the room is steady. This occurs also outdoors with no artificial light so it has nothing to do with Hz, or incandescent vs LED, etc.
Are you seeing similar behavior? If this is a defect I need to get this laptop exchanged pronto.
