Urinary Bladder:

The urinary bladder is an important organ in our urinary system, and its job is to store urine.
When the bladder is empty, it looks like a pyramid. As it fills with urine, its shape becomes ovoid. This means it is a stretchy muscular organ that can expand like a balloon.
The urinary bladder is located in the pelvis region of our body, behind the pubic symphysis. The pubic symphysis is the joint between our left and right pelvic bones. If we cut the body sagittally and look at the bladder from the side, we can see its location. In males, the rectum is behind the urinary bladder. In females, the uterus is behind the bladder, and the rectum is behind the uterus.
The urinary bladder is divided into four parts: Apex, Neck, Fundus, and Body.
The apex is the top front part of the bladder facing the abdominal wall.
The neck is the lower part of the bladder, where the urethra starts.
The fundus is the base of the bladder, located at the back and bottom.
The rest of the bladder is called the body.

There are two openings in the bladder. These are the ureteric orifices where urine enters the bladder. Between these two openings and the urethral opening, there is a triangular area called the trigone of the urinary bladder.
The wall of the urinary bladder contains smooth muscles called detrusor muscles. These muscles make the bladder stretchy and allow it to store urine. Our urinary bladder can hold about 400 to 600 ml of urine on average. When a certain amount of urine is stored, the bladder sends a signal to the nervous system, making us feel the urge to urinate. During urination, the detrusor muscles contract to push urine out of the bladder.
At the same time, the urethral sphincter muscles play their role. These muscles tighten and relax as needed to control urination. They are located on the sides of the urethra to hold the urine. When the urination signal is received, these muscles relax, allowing urine to flow through the urethra and be excreted from the body.
