ASE 2022 | Studio Visit with Emelyn Rodriguez
Emelyn Rodriguez ‘22 speaks about her work and artistic process. Emelyn takes inspiration from her dreams, using her paintings to explore her unconscious mind. The subjects of her work are often ambiguous figures. Emelyn wants the viewer to see themselves in her pieces and will remove the heads from figures or paint unidentifiable faces to do so. Purple is a reoccurring color to create a sense of peace amongst the paintings.
This series was created in conjunction with the Berman's "Annual Student Exhibition 2022." The ASE showcases the work made by art students and majors in the disciplines of painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, installation, mixed media and photography.
