Visible from Cusco, Ausangate, 6372m high, is considered a holy mountain by locals and was the original way to glimpse the rainbow coloured mountains.
It is one of the best but least visited Treks in Cusco. It makes a great alternative trek to the Inca Trail if you are looking for a challenge.
It is one of the best Peru Treks, some say even better than the Cordillera Huayhuash in Northern Peru
